It is just getting worse...

I talked to both FIL and MIL last night because Travis was working late. FIL revealed much more than I had heard. MIL is still not eating. She is drinking Ensure but less than a can a day. She just has no appetite. The dr has put her on an appetite enhancer and FIL mixed it with her Ensure yesterday and she ate more than she had in weeks! I just hope she will continue to eat.

I asked FIL how things were and his said better today than yesterday. I said what do you mean? He said well I think Grace (MIL) forgot to take her steroid that keeps her brain from swelling and it was a bad day. She was very moody and out of it. He said I am now going to have to monitor that.

I could tell talking to her yesterday that she was still out of it. This is not a good sign at all. When I got off the phone with them I just cried. I feel so helpless.

When Travis got home I told him to call his mom, she was completely out of it when he talked to her and coudn't carry on a conversation. This really devistated him.

Please continue to pray for her and us as I can already feel it going downhill.

Crazy Hat Day

It is Crazy Hat Day at the boys' school. Cole is wearing a Santa hat and Logan wanted to wear his cowboy hat. This cowboy hat is super special to me. It was my grandpa's (Pa). Pa died my freshman year of college and there are many times I sit there and think. Pa would enjoy this. This was one of those moments.

I could just see him standing there admiring my son wearing his hat smiling from ear to ear and saying "Lordy mercy that hat looks good on you."

I took a picture to memoralize this moment and I know one day when I see my Pa again we will talk about this moment.

10 years later

Wow, has 10 years really passed since high school. My reunion was this weekend and it was awesome seeing all my friends from back in the day! I loved seeing all the guys who had such great hair in HS and now they are BALD!! Who knew! The weekend was tiring as I never stay up past 10 and we were out till midnight on Friday and Saturday. Travis said he didn't think he could pull anymore midnighters! It was also fun getting to see everyone married with kids. It is kind of scary to think we are all old enough to be parents. I knew these people from the ages of 15-18 and know what kind of teenagers they were and it is frightening that they are now parents!! I hope to post some pics soon, I am having to bum the pics from my friends because my digital camera stinks!

My kids are smart!!!

Ok, so I know every parent thinks this, but mine really are!

Logan is spelling and is so close to reading I can taste it. This boy can count and add and subtract. Before I know it he is going to be doing algebra!

I thought Cole was not going to be as brainy as his brother, but boy was I wrong. He just turned 2 in May and can count to 13!! WHAT!?! Also this boy is already recognizing letters and numbers. This weekend was my 10 year HS reunion (I will talk about it in another post) and we were driving the 5+ hours home and Logan had fallen asleep, I know shocking, and Cole wanted to watch this DVD that is just a bunch of babies holding letters. He wasn't even wearing the headphones and a letter would come on the screen and he would say it. I would look at the screen periodically to see if he was right and he WAS!! Then this morning, there was a puzzle piece on the floor of the number 8 and he picked it up and said eight. He is really amazing us!!

Their house is sold!

My inlaws have sold their house. Grant, Travis' little brother, bought it. He is living in a different city but plans to rent the house for a while and then move back to town.

I guess now they will move after MIL's treatment is done. I know they are just ready to be here hanging out with my boys!

Which btw are doing great a swimming lessons! Logan can swim the length of the pool! And Cole is kicking ans swimming like crazy! Unfortunately I have to work during his lesson but Gimmie says he is doing great! They both LOVE to jump off the edge into the water!
