Guess what I am doing on Saturday???

Running my 1st 5k!!!! YIKES!!!  I HATE running but I am actually doing it!!!  I am running the Color Me Rad and I can't wait!!  This is the only 5k I have wanted to run.  Who doesn't want to look like a rainbow when they are done running!!  I can't wait to post pics after the race!!!

Do you see my ticker??

Yep that is right!! I am down 21lbs!!! I look GREAT!! Too bad this is just weight that I gained by sitting on the couch after I lost my job. I am now fitting into the clothes that were just taunting me. WHICH IS AWESOME!!! Summer in my bathing suit is going to be 1000 times better!!!

I had some students the other day say that at the start of the semester they thought I was either pregnant or just had a BABY!!! YIKES!! That is a reminder that will stay with me for a while not to gain the weight I have lost!!

The photo at the top of my blog looks nothing like me now! I look like a marshmallow cream puff lady in that pic! I really need to get a new pic up there!! QUICK!!!!

Another update

I guess I need to post a pic... But I literally have not had any time. I am now 14lbs ligther. But I am just hanging out around 170... I want to weigh 160 or less. I look in the mirror and don't see myself any skinnier. I started C25K and am still on week 2. I have so many excuses it isn't even funny. I don't want to run when it is cold, or windy. Of course it is SUPER nice on days when I really can't get sweaty because I have go and teach class. Murphy's Law! I know that is going to be the only way I get over this hump though is to kick it into high gear!!!

One month down!!

So I have lost 10lbs!! I am feeling good. Why don't I ever think to take before and after pics? So I can be those cool people with those awesome weight loss blogs?? Oh well. I am still tracking. I really need to buy a digital scale though. I am worried that it is going to be way different as far as my weight and I am going to CRY!! I also started Couch25K, (C25K), I downloaded the app on my phone! I am not planning to run a 5k anytime soon it has just helped me get off my butt! I am repeatint week 2 because week 3 requires 3 min of non-stop running and there was NO way I was ready for that!! Running is HARD but I am doing it... I am not pretty by any means but as folks drive by in my head I think to them, "Hey you are driving, don't judge!!"

Buckling Down

On January 8 I decided I was tired of squeezing into pants that were a size I didn't like and started using an app on my phone called My Fitness Pal! WOW it is working!! It allows me to scan the barcode on things and basically all I am doing is watching my calories. I have lost 6 pounds so far!! I am so thrilled! I put on a pair of jeans yesterday I had never worn! I had bought them at the church thrift store and they had never fit. They fit GREAT!! What an AWESOME FEELING!!!

My goal is to loose at least 20lbs. Eventually I am hoping to start playing tennis again but I have had a little snafu with the TSTA. They ranked me as a 4.5 player because I played in College and I wasn't even a 4.5 player then! I have asked for a refund because there is no place here in town that I can even get on a court to play with that rating. WHAT A MESS!! But playing tennis will up my exercise and help with the weight loss!! HURRAY!
