On this day...

Six years ago I was 9 months pregnant and about to explode... I looked like a beached whale... Many people would come up to me and say are you sure you aren't having twins... And I would come down from my hormonal ledge and say no... I am having (1) boy. But I had just found out it was boy one month before he was born. It took us 3 times and almost the whole pregnancy to find out what we were having. We knew from the beginning that there was just one, baby that it. What sex, who knew?! Who cared?! He/She was healthy and HUGE!!

And he continues to be huge!

But on this day six years ago I gave a campus tour. YEP you read that right I toured a prospective student and his parents around the university. I was already planning to be induced on the 11th of December. But I was working until the day he was born. And if that meant giving a campus tour then that is what I was doing. You should have seen the look on this families face when they asked when I was due and I told them I was having the baby tomorrow. It was PRICELESS!!

Luckily the school I worked for then is not quite as big as the one I work for now. I did start to have contractions that night. We ate Quiznos where I had a kids meal with a ham and cheese sandwich. Ended up going to the hospital and spending the night, was hooked up to the IV but not given an epidural until our actual inducement time of 7am and Logan was born on December 11, 2002 at 12:49am weighing 8lbs 6oz and was 22 1/4 inches long. He was gigantic!

Like I said he still is. He wears size 10 clothes is around 48 inches tall and is 70lbs... Many mistake him for an 8 year old. His is smart as a whip and can read, write and carry on the most brilliant of conversations...

The years have flown by yet it still seems like just yesterday when I was giving that campus tour...

Sneaky 5 almost 6 year old...

Ok so I thought I had a naive son...

Listen to this. We have been packing Logan's lunch daily since the first week of school. We had him try out the lunch line the first week, he didn't like it, so we started packing.

He had told us he would ocassionally buy a bisquit in the morning in the cafeteria, ok sometimes. And we had told him he could buy icecream on Fridays.

We had set-up and automatic debit and I had put on an email alert to send us and email when the account got below $5.00. I thought for sure that money would last almost the whole year. Boy was I wrong. We got the email alert yesterday.

I logged into the system to view his buying habits. Now it doesn't tell you what he buys only how much and how often.

This boy was purchasing breakfast and icecream almost daily!! HELLO we were feeding him breakfast at home as well! Plus we were packing a pudding in his lunch. So how many calories could he be eating?!?! Forget the freshman 15! He gonna get the Kindergarten 15!!

So I printed out the spending report and took it home with me and Travis and sat Logan down last night to talk to him.

And you should have seen his face it was like we had discovered a secret. Which we had. Travis asks him, "Logan did you get some icecream this week?" He says, "How did you know?" Travis says, "Because the school sent us an email letting us know you were out of money!" His eyes were as big as saucers! It was priceless. We gave him a talk about how he should only eat 1 breakfast and icecream was only for Fridays.

He then proceeded to pout and tell us life wasn't fair. Of course this was after we had just left Chick-Fil-A where they had played and we had seen a Salvation Army box for Toys for Tots and I told the boys no that is fair. That box is for children whose parents can't buy them anything. Travis asked Logan to count his toys. Logan just pouted and Cole began counting...

So hopefully Logan has learned his lesson...

I am pretty sure he has because this morning he didn't to get out of bed which left him no time for breakfast. We put some cereal in a bag and I took the boys to daycare, he didn't want to take his bag in and had barely begun to eat it. I told him he would be hungry if he didn't take it with him. But he refused. We walked in. He seemed hesitant about going into his bus line and I asked him what was wrong and he told me he was still hungry and I said that is your consequence for not getting up would you like me to get your cereal out of the car? He said no, I think he was embarressed to eat it infront of the big kids. I told him he had my permission to buy breakfast since he didn't have time to eat anything at home and he said ok, but then I told him next time he had to get out of bed when I told him...

Oh the joy of children!!

Mid November Already!!!

Wow. That is about all I can say. In one month exactly I will say good-bye to my 20's and HELLO 30's... YIKES...

It just seems so unbelievable that I am old enough. I mean wasn't it just yesterday I was in junior high? Now I am married for 7 years! Have 2 kids, a house and a dog... Wow time does fly...

Speaking of time flying I didn't tell you about what has been going on at our house. Halloween was great Logan was Popeye and Cole was a blue 3 eyed monster.

Then that evening Logan was so frustrated by how many kids that came to the door had already lost teeth that he wiggled his bottom one and Travis pulled it. Logan lost his first tooth on Halloween! The toothfairy brought him a $2 bill.

The big news in our household is...
In one week exactly we will be in DISNEYLAND!!! HURRAY!! We are all so excited! This is our big Christmas trip. We are meeting my Aunt Rynn, Uncle Kenny, Cousin Kelly, her hubby Chris, her kiddos Clara and Felix, Cousin Kacy, my parents and brother Kent and we are spending 5 days in Disney. It is going to be a BLAST!!!

More on that soon!

My babies are growing up!

Last night Cole slept in undies. We used his last pull-up the night before last. He has had dry nights for a couple of months we were just using the pull-ups until we ran out. Of course he did great...

All big boys at our house...

In other news we are trying to get Logan to pull a tooth out. He looks like a shark right now. His adult tooth has already grown in behind the baby tooth but the baby tooth is not loose enough to come out completely. We keep telling him to wiggle and it just isn't working. We even tempted him with money from the Tooth Fairy. Still didn't work... UGH!

And in other news...

Travis has begun training for his new Allstate business. It has been a little stressful as the moment he gets home we eat and then he goes straight to the computer and we never see him again. This has become very straining on everyone. The boys want their daddy and I am tired of being the entertainer.

When Travis does ask my opinion about something for the new business and I give it, he then acts like it was the worst opinion EVER but he he had just asked for my opinion like 10 minutes before. So I have quit trying to help. That has distanced us. Which isn't good AT ALL...

Plus his brother is in town right now so our usually routine is off even more than usual but he leaves tomorrow so we should go back to somewhat normal. Whatever that is...

Oh please let us get through this...

So much to say...

Why is it that I don't post more often? Instead I just let it build up until I have so much to say I just ramble... I am sure no one reads anyway and the only person I am writing for is myself. So what does it matter anyway that I ramble...

So here goes. October has been a busy month for us.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch at Church.

We also went to the State Fair with Kent.

But best of all we got a new doggie! His name is Brady. Cole calls him Brady dog and he is the best! He is 2 years old. Already housetrained! And is the best natured dog EVER! He has my Pa's bday, June 14, 2006 (Flag Day). I really don't know how we lucked into this great dog. If anyone is looking for a dog. You can find every breed imaginable!!

Here is our Brady dog!

No more babies.

What is that I hear? The sound of $$ from not having to buy anymore diapers or pull-ups. We are completely day and night trained at our house. That is a huge blessing.

Logan took the longest and it just happened within the last couple of weeks. Cole was night trained the day he started wearing undies. He still wears a pull-up to bed but that is because we still had some.

It is such a wonderful feeling as a parent to know you can succeed at something like this!

A little face lift.

So I got tired of the pink... My writing will only be in pink. I am just not a pink person...

Hey what can I say?!?!

Update on us...

I am back to the land of the living. I have diverticulitis. I go back to the dr on Friday to talk about going to a gastroenternologist for a colonoscopy.. FUN...

Cole had his worst day at school ever on Friday. He was sent to the office 4 times. I got 2 calls and even had to talk to him on the phone. He bit someone too.

Logan is doing good.

Opening a new business is more stressful for Travis than he could ever imagine.

And to top it all off we went from a 2 pet family to a no pet family this weekend. Saturday night we had to take our dog to the emergency vet because the congestive heart failure had just gotten too bad. He was just suffering so much. And to add insult to injury Cole's hermit crab decided to die too. He molting last week and then yesterday came out looking for new shell. (There are 4 for in the cage) And then just gave up, dried up and died....

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Sure hope I am not dying...

So I just realized that the dr called at 3:15. I just tried to call them back it is 5 minutes till 5pm and guess what they are closed! UGH!! HELLO!! Your hours are from 8-5pm. Not 8 till almost 5pm. I want to know what is wrong with me...

Now I am pissed! I have to call back in the morning...

I am sick again!

I went to the dr. yesterday. I have lost 10lbs in about 2 weeks. I am not hungry. Well that is a lie. I am actually starving. Get the food in front of me, take 3 bites and then I am completely done.

My bowels are acting up. I am literally pooping water. Bet you wanted to read that right!?! Yep my poop is clear. And it happens everytime I sit on the toilet. Nice huh.

When I went to the dr. yesterday I got an anal exam then he sent me for x-rays and lab work. I go back on Friday, I guess for him to try and tell me what is wrong. I also got to collect 4 different poop samples. NICE...

I am just ready to feel like my normal self again!

Although being 10lbs lighter is not a bad deal!

The plunge so to speak...

Travis officially quit his job today so that he could focus solely on everything that needs to be done for the Allstate business.

He doesn't start his training until mid October but in the next month he has to sign all the paperwork for the space for the office, make sure they start building it, start buying furniture. Hire someone to work with him. That is really alot to do when you have never done things like this before...

He was crushed when he quit today. His former boss was a complete jerk and actually had him in tears when he talked to me. That doesn't happen often.

So we are now on a rollercoaster and I just pray God guides us in the right direction!

First PTA meeting and other things...

So it is official... I am a PTA mom. I went to my first PTA meeting last night... I didn't know you were supposed to take your kid with you. They had a police officer there talking about bike safety. I obviously wasn't the only mom who didn't know your kids were supposed come because there were like NO kids there. Except for those little ones who the dad said I will keep one (the older) and you can take the little one. I am thankful in that respect that Travis can and does take care of both boys at the same time. There is no way Cole would have sat still through that meeting...

After the meeting was over I walked down the Kindergarten hall to Logan's classroom to see what was hanging in the hallway. Logan had to create a flower to describe himself and his was the first one on the wall. There was also a worksheet that everyone had done that said "The first thing I do in the morning before I go to school is: And Logan put I go to the bathroom! How cute is that??? Other kids wrote I eat breakfast, I get dressed. Gotta love a 5 year old!!

It went from bad to worse for me...

So yesterday around noon I started feeling AWFUL! I got the shakes like you wouldn't believe. I laid down in the back of my work for like forty minutes shaking like crazy then when I was as composed as I was going to get I left work and drove myself home, by the time I got there I had no feeling in my feet.

I grabbed a water because I felt super dehydrated, and just laid there. About an hour later I called Travis. He asked me if I had taken my temperature, I said no, I barely made it to the bed much less found the thermometer he told me to get up and it.

I did I had a slight temperature of 99.7. I took it about an hour later it and had gone up to 100.7. That is when the nurse at the Dr.s office called to confirm my appointment for today, of course I didn't say how bad I was feeling and said I will see you tomorrow.

Travis then came home and scolded me for not saying something. He told me to call them back. I did and told them what was going on. She relayed the info to the dr who said I needed to go ahead and come in today.

I did and guess what I have a slight infection and am now on some super strong antibiotics, hopefully I will be feeling better soon!!

Wow I am such a slacker...

How did I not write about Logan's 1st day of school?? I did great! No tears shed by me!! Oh and he did great too! Travis and I took him to school. We had to wait in the cafeteria until the bell rang and then we went to his class. I got to see where his sits and where his locker is. As soon as he got there he started coloring a picture. I keep trying to include some pics but it won't let me... you can see them on the boys website.

Now here we are into September and we have already written the letter that granted the permission to have Logan tested to promote him to 1st grade. He did half of the testing last week. I spoke with the counselor on Thursday and she said he was the sweetest most focused boy. She would say Logan do you want to stop and get a drink of water and he would say. No let's just keep going!

Logan was supposed to finish the testing today, but is home sick with Travis. He has the tummy bug. He got it from me.

I only went to work one day last week and I felt like crap on that one day. On Tuesday I had a procedure called Her Option done. I just really haven't great since. I don't think it was from that, I think I had a bug but didn't know it. It really hit me Friday. Then Saturday I still had it but had a Brunch to attend because one of my best friends from Jr high who was my Maid of Honor in my wedding, was getting married. The I raced home. Took the boys to a birthday party, still not feeling great. We got home and changed for the wedding. Went to the wedding where Cole kept saying the bride looked like a princess and Logan said she was Cinderella!

Yesterday I couldn't regulate my body temperature if my life depended on it. I was shivering, I mean severe shakes or sweating... NOT FUN...

Today I am at work and feeling ok... Poor Logan... I hope he doesn't get it as bad as me, unfortunately it means Cole and Travis are next! GREAT!

Update on the Steve

We took Stevie back to the Vet yesterday. We have decided to do preventative medication for his congestive heart failure and his heart murmur. The cost will be around $20 for a 3 month supply. He will be on the heart medicine once a day for the rest of this life. They Vet also gave us some Lasix medicine as a just in case if he started coughing again to give him, so that we didn't have to make another visit to the vet's office.

This is great news! They then gave Stevie his yearly shots. I would think that if they thought his prognosis was bad they would not give him these shots.

Last night he scared the bejeezers out of me. It was like 3am and he started his coughing. I don't know if he got choked or what but I gave him his Lasix medicine... Gosh I wish dogs could talk!

The Vet said we will see you next year. You don't have to bring him back unless you see a huge decline and just get his medicines refilled as needed! What a huge relief for us!!

The day after...

We had Meet the Teacher last night. Logan’s teacher looks like she is about 14, but this is not her first year of teaching. Her name is Ms. Bell. He actually knew 2 kids in his class. One girl named Gabby is at the daycare right now and the other boy, Colby played T-ball on the Scrappers 2 years ago.

The school has 8 kindergarten teachers and all classes have 24 students. State law says no more that 22 students in a class so they are over capacity but there is nothing they can do about it. We talked to her about the possibility of getting Logan tested to move up to 1st grade and left a note with the office to talk to the counselor as well. We will see what happens.

I teared up walking down the hallway to his class. I am going to take him to school on Monday, I can only imagine how emotional I will be then!

Today is the day...

My oldest baby will find out who his kindergarten teacher is today. That is right, tonight is Meet the Teacher at the elementary school. Is it really happening? Am I really and truly old enough to have a child in elementary school? It just doesn't seem possible!

School is old hat for Logan, he was actually in Private Kindergarten last year and this year will be a breeze for him, so much so that we are actually considering having him tested to move up to 1st grade once the school year begins. We are going to talk to his teacher tonight. My biggest concern is his emotional maturity... He is my baby...

So I am super nervous about tonight. It is that butterfly feeling I used to get before school began. Logan does not know that feeling. But he will... We don't really know any kids that will go to the elementary school but is a great big world and we are about to enter it!!

I am an idiot!

So I ruined a whole load of white clothes Saturday. Somehow I washed a blue pen with the whites and it BROKE! Most of the whites were Travis' undershirts, which is fine. But the rest of the wash was 3 pairs of my khaki pants and a nice work shirt of mine. I now have no khaki pants! I am so pissed!! I hate the fact that I now have to go buy new pants with money we don't have!!!

Happy 7th Anniversary to me!

Wow 7 years already... How can that be?? Really Travis and I have been together for 9 years. All of my 20s... Time flies when you are having fun right?!?!

If you call spending Saturday night into Sunday morning in the ER fun than we are PARTY ANIMALS!!

So here is the story...

Cole wakes up around 11PM screaming and I ran into his room. He was saying his tummy was hurting. I tried to console him and it wouldn't work. Travis came in and tried to. We kept asking him if he needed to go potty and he kept saying no.

We took him into our room. We kept trying to get him on the potty. Finally Travis took him. And Cole is screaming I can't poopy. He brings him back to our room still screaming. He lays him on our bed and I notice something red on his belly. His belly button is as red as a clown's nose.

So are different parts around where his pull-up is. He has a horrible rash. I turn him over and he has a HUGE bite on his back. He is having an allergic reaction to some sort of bite (looked like a spider bite to me). I decide we better go to the ER because the rash is starting to spread.

We call Grandpa to come over and stay with Logan since he is asleep in the bed while we head to the hospital.

They get us taken back really quickly and the dr. is there just as fast. Cole was a little nervous about the bed this time as the last time he was "drowned due to sticking a roly poly up his nose the last time" on it he didn't really want to lay on it, but luckily all we had to do was lift his shirt for the dr. to see the rash and the bite and the dr. listened to his lungs, heart, stomach and looked in his ears and throat. All was good. Still no clue what bit him...

They gave him a strong dose of benadryl and steroids and we had to wait and see how those worked.

They did beautifully because the rash went away after an hour and we got to go home with a prescription for the steroids (which Cole says tastes BAD!) and to continue with benadryl. We get him and I shake out his bed and find nothing...

So there is our 2nd trip to the ER!

Yesterday we went to the softball game and a bee decided to land on Cole's hand and we both flipped out! Why do stinging insects like this boy???

So how are we spending our anniversary tonight. Broke because we paid an ER copay!

August isn't our month...

I had to take our dog, Stevie, to the vet yesterday, he has had a cough for a week. Turns out he has congestive heart failure. He is nine. The coughing is caused from fluid in his lungs. The vet gave him a diuretic and he is taking 2 meds twice a day for 15 days and then I take him back to the vet to reassess and then we have to decide what to do.

On this day a year ago is when I passed out. (Read my medical blog for more info)

Tomorrow a year ago is when MIL when into ICU and never came out.

I mean really... What is it with August????

The best feeling in the world...

Loving on your niece for the first time! Yep that is right. Abby and Christy are in town. They came in pretty late last night but Larry brought them by on their way from the airport so that Travis and I could hold our niece. She is precious! 14lbs of precious! She loves to smile and always has her tongue out!

Today Christy asked if the boys could stay home with her, Abby and Grandpa to play, for some special cousin bonding time. The boys were so excited to meet their little baby cousin for the first time. Oh how I hope Christy is taking lots of pics!

After they left Travis says see I told you she would like me the best. He is so in love!! And it is true, she just gazed and him and was in awe! Then he says isn't it so nice loving on them, seeing them laugh and then sending them home. And I have to agree, it was pretty darn nice!!

Coincidences?!?!

Seriously all events that have happened lately just seem strange. Last week I wrote on my purpose in life then I spent a weekend with a bunch of my friends from Sunday School and one of our first topics we discussed was Our Purposes in Life...

Then yesterday I posted about paying it forward or Random Acts of Kindness (RAK)ing. Not only am I having to read a book on it for a retreat I am going on for work next week call the Fred Factor. But it actually happened to us last night while we were waiting to get the boys hair cut.

This gentleman was paying and I guess he ended up having two coupons. And realized that the one he had left was going to expire at the end of the week and he wouldn't need it before it expired. We already had one coupon with us and were only going to get Logan's hair cut yesterday. Cole's really didn't NEED it, but could certainly USE the cut. But after the man hand us the other coupon which happen to be for considerably less than the amount for which I had a coupon for, I was completely grateful. Now I could get both boys a haircut.

That man didn't have to do that RAK, he could have just taken that coupon and thrown it away, but he didn't he gave it to us and made it possible for us to get both boys a haircut.

Remember you just never know what people are going through or how much one little coupon might change them!! Thank sir for that Great Clips coupon!!!

Paying it Forward

I am stealing this from my friend Cate's blog... She gave me a challenge in a comment and I was too lazy to type it out so I am copying and pasting. But the challenge has been accepted!!

It is time to pay it forward!!!
Hopefully it will bring some blog lurkers out to say hello as well. Make a comment with your email address or contact me at mine and I will send you something really cool. You have to be willing to give me an address to mail it to you, however.
Don't get your hopes up, it isn't a million dollars or a crockpot. But it might have something to do with music. And that is all I am going to say lest I get sued. Or art, or who knows. You will just have to wait and see! :)
So, contact me and get your free stuff. First ten people to respond to this post get something. I don't even think I have 10 people reading this blog but we will see, won't we.

Kids Say the Darndest Things...

Ok so we all know we are working on the whole pottytraining Cole thing. Well in the morning we are slackers (with a capital S) and leave Cole in his nightime pull-up (this boy is up between 5-6 every morning) my alarm goes off at 6:10, I need that extra hour. All parents know the need for sleep! Well in that hour he manages to poop. I am about to get them dressed and Logan just happens to be laying on the floor playing cars right next to Cole's stinky butt and he goes,"Cole your poop stinks!" Cole looks and him and says, "Sorry Logan." and turns back to the tv. I just busted out laughing. It was so funny.

What is the purpose of life?

So this question was posed to me today and I tried to answer the best I could.

But I am a realist, plan and simple and I am going to tell you like it is. Now I am not sure I am actually doing what my true purpose in life is.

1) Because. What is my purpose? I know every humans' purpose is to procreate and make more humans. Well mark that off the list. I have achieved that goal. How well? You decide. There are times I don't think I have done that great of a job. Others I step back and think. Heck I did AWESOME!

2) If this were my purpose would I be writing this? I think if you were truly content in your life you wouldn't be questioning it. I for one know I am not content in any aspect of my life and that stinks. I don't have that happy go lucky life that everyone dreams of. It may look like it from the outside but I am one heck of a faker!

But me being the realist here I am laying it all out for you. If my life had taken a different path, would I have had a different purpose? Would I be doing a different daily deed? Who knows? But really who cares? I can't go back and take a different path, although there are many times I wish I could (I am sure there are many people that wish they could) but this is the reality we have made for ourselves that we must live in everyday. The road we have to take is paved in stone and we may stumble but we have to get up and figure out our purpose. Stupid, crazy and useless and it may feel someone out there sees it as smart, intelligent and helpful (or so I sure hope they do!) Or I am just wasting breath (really my energy typing this long thing!)

3 times in a hour???

Cole did great at school today with potty training. They even got him in undies after nap. It was when he got home things when downhill. As soon as we got home I had him go potty.

We are sitting at the dinner table and he says I went teetee and yep he did. That was #1. I get him changed into a new pair of undies. About 20 minutes later he on the living room floor playing cars and pees again. It was a huge puddle this time. That was #2. I get him changed and the pee soaked out of our new carpet. Then I get him settled on the couch on top of a towel and his 3rd set of undies. He then says I need to go poop. (At least he tells us that!) Travis takes him to the potty and we realize that he has peed again. This is about 30 min after the 2nd pee. It was not a little puddle either. Thank goodness I had put down a towel!

Seriously who knew someone could pee so much!! I think it was the sippy of milk he had as soon as he got home from school. Gotta remember not to give him one of those while potty training. Easier said than done since this kid LOVES milk!!

So he went the majority of the day dry. Now my question is, does he get a stamp on the progress chart or not? I mean he did go most of the day, it was just the last 2 hours that were bad...

Does this seem right?

We are strapped for cash... I mean the rising gas prices. Travis changing branches and just my crappy salary make for us tight every month. But I really wanted the two of us to have a nice getaway weekend in San Antonio. He has never been and I found a great deal and booked it. Well it hit our credit card this last month Travis went crazy.

We can't pay that, you better call and cancel. Blah, blah, blah. I refused and said if we are so broke you do it. He never did, then we discussed the fact that we still had a gym membership that neither of us used and how that was going to waste and he should call and cancel that.

Well he was off work today because he will have to work this Saturday and I get an email from the hotel showing our trip in August has been cancelled. Totally disappointing. I talked to him once during the day and his sitting on his butt watching a movie.

Just I am getting the boys dressed for bed and he comes in his workout clothes and I ask him. Where are you going? He says to work out... I say you have all day to do that and you decide to do it now? I mean really?

Not only am I mad about the fact that he decides to go work out right now when he had literally ALL day to do it, but that is something we talked about cancelling because we are so freaking broke.

I am just so sick of this. If it something he wants then we have enough money, but anything I want, we are just to poor. Such a double standard!

Making the bribe even easier!!

So I have been telling the Chuckee Cheese bribe story to absolutely EVERYONE and I get and email that is going to make this bribe to potty training a snap!

Potty Training Chart

They have all sort of reward charts. If you are trying to get your kid to do something or not do something (my next bribe will be getting Cole to stop sucking his thumb, they have that too!) You should check this out!!

Bribery and Potty Training a Perfect Combination...

What does it take to get Cole to use the potty all day? Bribing him with Chuckee Cheeses! Yep yesterday morning he asked when they were going to get to go and I said when you start using the potty all day and wearing underwear. Well I took him to school and told his teacher the deal. He used the potty all day.

He came home last night and his report said can put in underwear tomorrow. We called Gimmie and told her the good news. She of course told Daddo.

Well this morning I went to put underwear on him and he says, I don't like underwear, I like pull-ups and I told him the deal is to go to Chuckee Cheeses you have to be in underwear and dry not pull-ups. So I took 2 pair of underwear with him to school today to see if his teachers can get him in them.

But we are taking some major steps in the right direction! Who knew bribery to Chuckee Cheeses was what it would take??

It was a great day!

4th of July...

We had a blast! We went to Lake Leon for the day... We rode the JetSki and on my first trip around the lake I guess I decided I knew what I was doing and tried to take a turn going 50 mph and went flying. I hit the water head first and it felt like I was hitting glass. Not fun! I am now finding bruises, I never knew you could have! I ended up going to the dr. yesterday because my ear wouldn't quit hurting. I have a hole in my ear drum! Nice huh... He wants to see me back in 2 weeks to make sure it is healing like it should... I lost my sunglasses in the lake on that stupid ride too...

Didn't stop me from riding it a couple more times. Had a blast in fact... I was just a little more cautious when it came to turning and after seeing me fall there was no way in heck the boys were getting on that thing. We had been trying to convince them that it was safe and not scary. Well they saw me fall and they were NOT getting on it at all after that.

They did enjoy the boat and just getting in the water! In fact they LOVED the water and if we lived anywhere near the water I don't think I would ever be able to get them of it!

They both got to see their first real firework show except Cole was so exhausted that he fell asleep before they really started! He also had his ears all tucked up inside themselves because he said they were too loud. It was so cute.

We got home a little before midnight... It was a great day!

So pissed...

Anyways I am super pissed at Travis he is making me cancel our romantical trip to San Antonio at the beginning of August because we got our credit card bill the other day and it was high and then I went and had that stupid wreck which will make this months high. He is so mean. I know we are broke and he hates his job but I know him getting away would be the best thing for him but he is being a dumb ass..

I still haven't done it... I don't want to, if I have to cancel I am not going to talk to him the whole weekend we were supposed to be out of town. JERK...

When I am stressed I shop, who doesn't...

The boys have been holy terrors lately and I know it is because they can feel the stress in the house...

We are headed to the lake tomorrow, hopefully that will make him feel better...

Just plain tuckered out...

I didn't get much sleep last night...

Travis and I play softball for my work and we had a double header. We got home late and the boys were with Grandpa. We got them into bed around 10pm. I got into bed around 10:30, fell asleep pretty quickly. We are working on night training Logan. He sleeps so hard that he doesn't know that he pees in his sleep. Well last night sometime between 10 and 1am he had an accident.

Travis and I get up and change his sheets after Travis went in there to take him to the bathroom (usually done around 12:30 every night). I go back to bed and am wide awake. I toss and turn. Around 3am Cole starts crying. I go and check on him. Not sure what is wrong. Must have had a bad dream because he is still asleep. I cover him back up and go back to bed. Still wide awake. Stevie starts scratching and shaking his head. His collar is driving me CRAZY!! I go and take it off him.

Finally around 5am I fall asleep. Well 6am my alarm goes off and here I am...

Insomnia is no fun.... I hope I can make it through the day.

The short end of the stick...

Why does it always feel like Travis and I are on the losing end?

No matter what we do or how hard we try, we just can never be on top. We are both down the dumps about our jobs right now. He just isn't bringing the money and I am not getting respect I deserve.

I have been to a couple of National Conferences in the couple of months and all these other institutions see how good I am at what I do, but my own place of employment doesn't see it...

Travis is just stuck in a rut. He had to move branches and is now at one that sees less traffic which in turn means less transactions... NOT GOOD FOR US...

With the price of everything going up, we are barely making ends meet and life is just really frustrating. Why do the rich get richer and we are stuck just paying more bills???

Why?

Ok so every morning I have this horrible craving for Sonic's Vanilla Diet Coke and tater tots. This morning I caved... Wish I hadn't... This is the damaged that ensued...

Ok so I know that doesn't look too terrible but we really don't have the $500 deductible right now to cover this. We just had to put a new roof on the house, thanks to the recent hail storms and Travis just switched branches at the bank and it is SUPER slow. We are POOR!!!!! And that is putting it nicely!

Why oh why did I have to get that stupid Diet Coke today???

So I have always been the girl who doesn't like pink. But did any one else notice that my blog it now... PINK!!! GASP!!!! But who doesn't love argyle? And I was too tired and crossed from scrolling through all the sites. I really wanted it in blue but oh well... I had to loose my cool name and my picture slide show. The price you pray for an upgrade. But I think it looks pretty darn good... Thanks Erin P for the inspiration!

Now onto why I really posted today... I had the time of my life Saturday night. Well really it was all day Saturday. My maid of honor, Shelby is getting married in September and her bachelorette party was Saturday. Her matron of honor, her sister and a couple of her other friends through an all day shin dig that started out on Lake Grapevine with a party barge. We were on the boat from 10-2. It was like I was single and carefree again. Floating the water, catching some rays. Just chatting with girls not worrying about is this kid drowning, does this kid have on enough suncreen. The only person I had to worry about who had on enough sunscreen was me, I missed one place, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!.

That evening we went to the Matron of Honors house for a Passion Party and a lingerie shower. That was so much fun. I didn't buy anything but it was fun watching Shelby get all embarressed by her mom and aunt when the PP consultant pulled out the novelty items!

After the PP Shelby opened her lingerie. We played a game that I had never seen but thought was such a cute idea. As Shelby opened each piece we as a group named the item. If the nighty was yellow, then say we named it Banana Sundae, a tag was put on the outfit and written down on sheet of paper with the names of all the other outfits and on the honeymoon, Shelby's new husband, Mark would take the "menu" and choose what his beautiful bride would wear to bed based on the options the paper without getting to see them.

Such a cute idea! We had a fun time trying to think of names for all the outfits! I got home at 11:30pm that night! It was fun just hanging out and being carefree!!

Guess where I got to go last night?

Anyone? Anyone?

The ER! Yep that's right... Cole did it yet again. He stuck a roley poley in his nose at daycare and then decided to tell me on the way home that he had something hard in his nose. After piecing together the story, I called the dr. at 6pm and she told me to take him to the ER.

They flushed out his nose, who knows if the thing was up there because if it was, it went to his stomach! GROSS HUH!!!. That was one expensive lesson and I hope that he has now learned that he should NEVER stick things up his nose!!

The triage nurses said we hope to not see you here for something in his ears. I said, don't give him any ideas!

Seriously what is wrong with this kid!!

Have you ever wondered if you should leave a comment???

Beth says it best....

So if in doubt, leave a comment!!

The not so perfect trinity...

How come it seems everything in life can't run perfectly at one time?

Right now life at home is good. My home life is great! Travis and I are in a perfect groove. Sure we have our disagreements but that is what married couples do. They disagree and keep going.

My personal life is good. I have friends at church who love me and I love. They support me and all that I do.

But work is AWFUL! I am not happy at all. I am all alone. Seriously. I feel like I live in an isolated bubble in which the only people that talk to me are the students and occasionally my boss giving me some work. I am not sure what I have done, but I have no friends and it is no fun... I HATE being a loner... It makes me feel empty...

I just don't understand why you can't have your cake and eat it too?

My bff quit her job in the fall to become a photographer, she did the boys Christmas pic... Well we had her do pics of the boys in the Bluebonnets and check out one she is going to use of Logan on her site.

How to make someone feel awkward...

After they have visited your Sunday school class walk up to them and say. Hey your are the dr that pulled the plug on my mother in law. They are sure to never return to your Sunday school class again. Yep that is what I did on Sunday. I have never really been one for the right words....

I mean seriously...

So the last two Thursday have been impossible as far as teaching class.

Last Thursday 5 min before class begins, a transformer blows and the who school loses electricity. GREAT! My students were just about to do a timed mid-term. We pack up and go home, no use in sitting in the hot, dark classroom.

They take the mid-term on Tuesday.

Last night as they begin their informative speeches we get a loud knock on the door and someone rudely says, "Evacuate to a safer part of the building."

So once again class is cancelled. We all then huddle in the bathrooms for 2 hours for heavy rain. This is an 8 week course and things have totally been thrown off schedule... I just don't think I am meant to teach on Thursdays!!

But as I am driving into Mansfield I enter winter wonderland. Check out the hail that fell at our house!

A Loganism

Well yesterday Logan and Travis were planting plants, I can't bend over and plant because of my whacked out head the best I can do is sit there and pull the plant out of the pots. Cole was napping because we actually had a triple date Friday night and the boys stayed up past 10pm and Cole was EXHAUSTED! Anyways. Travis was digging the holes and Logan would take the flowers from me and put them in the holes and then fill the holes up. Well we had purchased 100 flowers. And Logan kept asking how many and I kept saying. You don't wanna know. Finally I as we go a little closer to the end, I would give him the real #. As we were almost done. I said Logan I didn't know you had such a green thumb and he quickly looks down and his hand and says WHERE? all distraught. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen. So then we had to explain to him what a green thumb was.

It was so cute!

Outsmarted by a 2 year old!

Last night was Logan's first tball game and I had Cole bundled because although it was 65 degrees the wind was blowing and we had just left the dr for his ear infection and I say look Cole there is Logan he is about to bat. Doesn't he look cute in his hat.

Cole says mommy that's not a hat. That's a HELMET! And he was so right. I love being schooled by a two year old!

It's been awhile...

Seriously... Have you ever sat for a total of 14 hours in an airport/airplane?!?! That is what I did yesterday trying to get home from a conference in Colonial Williamsburg. My colleagues and I spent a good 5 hours in the Newport News airport just trying to get to Atlanta. Fun times. NOT!

Then after getting to A town our connecting flight was another 3 hours later. The only good thing that came from all this madness is we were automatically rolled to a flight and seated in First Class BABY! Can you say NICE! I'll take an upgrade anytime!

So arriving home at like almost 11pm last night my house is pitch black. Seriously, not even 1 light left on for me. Thanks, thanks for bringing out the welcome wagon. WHATEVER... I am home, back at work with a raging sinus/allergy/sound like a man something or another but hey, it's all good!

Off on Monday for another adventure in West Texas!! At least I know my parents will leave a light on for me. They are like a Motel 6!

Tag Team is back again...

Here are two pics I thought were super cute I took this weekend!

Logan has started basketball and has become a hoss! He LOVES it!! We just have to get him to stop guarding his own team mates!! Here is a video clip from one of his games!
