We had a great Thanksgiving. Travis and I both had to work the day before, but I got off at noon and Travis at 2pm so we could start our never-ending drive to O town. Travis' dad came along with us. The car was packed, to say the least.
We hit the road around 3pm which gets us into Abilene at dinner time. Ok there is nothing to eat on I-20 in Abilene which means we have to drive all the way into down. Total pain!! We are back on the road after a quick bite at Whataburger. We cruise into Odessa around 8ish. The boys are up and playing until almost 10pm.
Thanksgiving morning we all get up and pile back into 2 cars. The five of us plus my folks are headed to Ruidoso. IT IS SNOWING!!! We drive through snow until we got to Ruidoso where it proceeds to show no sign of snow at all!! HELLO it was snowing in Odessa, but not in the mountains!?!?
The boys play in the house and we put food out for the deer. Thanksgiving dinner is steak and baked potatoes! Gotta love that.
The next morning we wake up to a good 8 inches of snow on the ground. Mom and I do a little shopping at 10am because there is no need for the 4am BS. Logan and Travis LOVED it. Cole wasn't so sure. Travis and I take Logan to see Mr. Magorium's Magic Emporium. It was ok. We all just chill.
Saturday is more of the same but we decided to go bowling. It was a great time. Logan got to practice for his upcoming 5th (yes you read that right) birthday.
Sunday (my dad's birthday) we get up and start the drive back to Odessa. We are headed down the mountain when Cole starts complaining that his back hurts. I tell him I am sorry, the next thing I know he is throwing up. Wonderful! He got car sick. Mom and I pull over (the grown men are in a different car) and I hurry and get Logan out of the car because he just has to think about throwing up and it happens. Mom graciously cleans up Cole. Luckily that was the only occurance.
We make it back to O town and spend the evening at my Grandparent's house. They had alot of fun playing with the boys.
Monday we make the trek back home. We take a 2 hour detour in Abilene this time to check McMurry, show off the boys and eat lunch. We cruise into Mansfield around 4:30. The boys were so excited to see their cars...
So there we have it... We logged almost 1300 miles for this trip. It was an adventure full of memories. Here are few pics. There are ton on the boys site www.logan.aboutmybaby.com
